1850 - 1979
Founding & Early Growth
Founded eleven years before the Civil War as Taylor Drayage, the company was led by John Rex Taylor, a prominent “boss teamster” of his era. Under his leadership, the firm specialized in transporting books and meats for some of the most major American meatpackers of the time, including Rath Packing, Wilson & Company, John Morrell, and Dubuque.

1980 - 2012
Becoming Crescent
Between 1980 and 2012, Crescent was officially established as fifth-generation leadership began under Chris Taylor. During this era, the company transformed into a Premier Service Provider dedicated to creating growth opportunities for its people to reach their full potential. To ensure we meet our customers’ true needs through consistent service, performance, and results, the company introduced “The Crescent Way”—our continuous improvement service model designed to completely align the company’s purpose, processes, and people.

2013 - Present
